Bishop Simon Stock Palathra CMI was born on 05 June 1936 in the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Changanachery. After his school years, he joined the Aspirants House of the CMI Congregation at Mutholy in 1953. On 5 May 1956 he made his first Profession in the CMI Congregation. He was ordained a priest on 1 December 1964. He was ordained as the second bishop of Jagdalpur Diocese in 1993. From then onwards he is guiding the Church in Bastar.
